Battle of the Best: Zoeva VS. Real Techniques

Hi guys!

As you all probably know, Zoeva and Real Techniques are two make up brush brands that are really blowing up right now. Everybody seems to be writing about their latest pick ups of these two gorgeous brands and I am no different! Therefore, I thought it would be fun to compare the two and see which brush brand really comes out on top.

1. Price: On the Zoeva website, their 102 Silk Finish Face Brush roughly translates to £10.25, whereas the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (which is aesthetically very similar to the Zoeva Face Brush) is just £8.99 on the Superdrug website. Also, the Zoeva Classic Eye Set (brush set of 6 different brushes) is priced as roughly £30, whereas the Real Techniques Eye Starter set (brush set of 5 different brushes is just £20.99. However, you can argue that there is one less brush in the Real Techniques set, Real Techniques are a drugstore brand and therefore have to be cheaper than the online retailers and that Zoeva brushes will cost a bit more because of the great ethical values behind the brand - but more on this later.

2. Design: It goes without saying that both brands are beautifully designed with lovely looking and feeling brushes so I think this point is really up to personal preference. One one hand I love the vegan material Zoeva creates their brushes with and how tightly packed all the bristles are to make a really good quality brush, but I also love the softness of Real Techniques' blusher brush and how perfectly the Expert Face Brush applies my foundation.

3. Ethics: One of my favourite things about Zoeva is how ethical the brand is. Zoeva not only creates brushes made from only vegan materials, but they also have every women's interests at heart. When you buy Zoeva products online, you are sent a little information card about the brand with your products. This information card tells you all about how Zoeva was created to try to make women who have suffered mental and/or physical abuse feel beautiful again and I just love that way of thinking. However, Real Techinques state on their website that they also wish to empower women through making them feel confident in their own skin and helping learn the right techniques to create beautiful makeup. You can see that both brands are really interested in their customers and want to make their loyal consumers feel amazing when using their products.

I think that both Zoeva and Real Techniques have a lot to offer and so many good points that it would be difficult to list them all here. But the real question is, which brand do you prefer?
