July Haul Post: Benefit, Urban Decay and Real Techniques

Every payday of every month, I always seem to have accumulated a long list of all the products I have discovered over the course of the month and that I am dying to try out! Therefore, my spending money goes much quicker than what should be allowed and I am worried I may have developed a real addiction to new makeup products...

Here is my latest pay-day haul!

1. Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish - as a HUGE fan of all things Benefit, when I saw the 15% off July sale on feelunique.com I knew some new Benefit products would be knocking at my door pretty soon. I have only used this facial polish twice so far but I can definitely give two huge thumbs up for this product already. The tiny exfoliating beads in this facial polish come in great number which really makes me think that I can actually feel the polish working to make my skin clearer, brighter and smoother.

2. Gosh Foundation Primer Classic - the velvety smooth feel to this primer is truly addictive. I never apply my makeup now without two squirts of this first. The primer creates a smooth finish quickly and easily all over any lumps or bumps you may have to make a flawless canvas to begin putting on makeup on.

3. Makeup Academy Pro-Base Conceal & Brighten Kit - this kit isn't expensive to buy and works wonders too! The concealer really covers up any blemishes on the skin and the highlighter helps to bring out the bits you want to enhance. For a high street budget brand, I can't say I have any negatives on this product!

4. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - the current rave about these brushes are really not to be ignored. Hype is normally given to those who deserve it and I can truly say that Real Techniques deserve all the attention they have been getting recently. I actually stumbled across the Expert Face Brush randomly, before I'd even heard of the brand and decided that I would try it out. The flawless finish you see when using this brush is due to how well the brush blends your foundation into your skin. No nook is left untouched, no cranny is unseen to. This really helps to create an all-over, natural cover with foundation.

5. Urban Decay's Naked Basics palette - another item I bought with the 15% off sale on feelunique.com was the Basics palette by Urban Decay. I bought this palette simply because I couldn't choose between the Naked 1, 2 and 3 palettes already brought out by Urban Decay and I am a huge fan of natural looking makeup. For a reasonably expensive palette, the eye shadows are quite small but from what I can tell so far, I think they will last a long time. Pretty colours ranging from light nudes to black, this Basics palette is my new go-to eyeshadow palette for casual days out.

6. Rimmel's Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick - another high street fave, this eye shadow stick is ridiculously easy to apply and as I bought colour 003 Bad Girl Bronze, it is great for a quick darker smokey eye look too. The eye shadow sticks come in all different colours but I am particularly enjoying a darker brown at the moment to run across the outer third of my eyelid and down the crease as well. This really makes the green in my eyes stand out and creates a smokey look too.

7. Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow - the third and final product I bought from feelunique.com was Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow. Bought in a similar dark brown colour to my Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick, Benefit's Cream Shadow is a more upmarket version. The dark brown shadow pops any eye colour and feels like velvet beneath the finger tips. This Cream Shadow is a little more difficult to apply to the other third of the eye lid if in a rush, but is the obvious winning preference when taking time to do my makeup. Using an angled brush, I will dab the creamy eye shadow into the corners of my eye and along my eyelid crease to create a shadow. This product doesn't smudge, smear or stick and is well worth the money.

8. Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara - I bought this mascara after I saw Zoella use it in one of her videos and she showed how long lashes look after one application of the mascara. The recommendation rang true as the mascara has quickly become one of my favourite items in my makeup drawer! The pretty design of the tube hides away a thick brush that not only darkens lashes, but stretches them until they touch close to your eyebrows. Natural and non-clumpy looking, this mascara really does what many only promise.

Side note: I will probably be doing mini individual reviews on each product I've mentioned here as I have so much more to say about all of them but if I wrote it all on this post now, it would turn into a little book! Stay tuned for more in depth reviews ;)

Has anyone else tried any of these products? Do you have any recommendations for me to try out next month?
